Just because we're in a retirement home - are we too old to respond to the Canada Census
While many of the public were happy to hear that the Canada census forms were coming back it seems that they're not coming back to everyone - specifically those living in Retirement Homes.
Nor did they bother to inform them.
It turns out that Statistics Canada does use a form of shortcut to collect information from places like retirement homes.
A local retirement home said that StatsCan had contacted the facility by telephone and asked if could provide basic information such as name, unit number, birth date and gender which is much less information thatn sought on the short form census.
