Abbeyfield House provides family-style accommodation for up to 10 independent older adults. Abbeyfield has no medical staff on-site, but with support from Ottawa West Community Support and Community Care access Centre (CCAC), residents may receive help with personal care and housekeeping, should they need it. There is staff on duty during the day and overnight.
The residence is a beautiful, Victorian-style house located near the Parkdale United Church. It is close to the Parkdale Market, several churches, a pharmacy, a library and a community centre. All areas of the house are wheelchair accessible. Each suite consists of a large bed-sitting room and private bathroom with grab bars. Suites have a 24 hour emergency response call system and individual thermostats for heat and cooling. There is a communal dining room, lounge, activity room, laundry room, secure storage room, common kitchen and parking for residents and visitors.
Breakfast is self-serve while the other two meals of the day are home-cooked by our lovely full-time cook.
